Decent Bar Food, Good Oysters
I stopped at Abe's on a Saturday afternoon. We had just driven into town, were looking for a quick meal, and maybe catch at least the score for the Ohio State game.
The bartender found us a bar seat in front of a TV, and tuned in the game. They pushed us off in a corner because everyone could care less about Big 10 football in SEC territory. We ordered some oysters and beers, and hung around awhile.
Abe's is an old fashioned pub/sports bar cum oyster bar, with decent food and lot's of TVs. You could almost call it a local dive joint except that it's still pretty new.
Oysters are part of the name and they don't dissapoint. At $10 per dozen, they are a good bargain and are fresh and delicious, with both East and West coast varieties offered. They are served prety plain jane style on a plastic tray, which just adds to the whole roadside ambiance.
I wouldn't come here for anything else besides bar food, beer, and sports. The other food we had was good, not great. But the oysters are good, the beers cold, and Ohio State won.
Not open for lunch during the week.
