El Vaq is a great place for cheap food and drinks. It's not haute cuisine Mexican,but the food is very tasty, the portions are large, and the prices low. You get a lot of food for your money

El Vaq is a chain, but a small local one, and very successful. i have eaten at several of their locations, and have never been disappointed. The Arlington location is especially busy, which is a tribute to their loyal following, as the location is "off pitch" to be generous.

Whatever your favorite dish is, El Vaq has it on their menu - burritos, flautas, fajitas, chimichangas, and every variety of steak, chicken, or seafood Mexican dish you can imagine. there is something for everyone, and it is hard to spend more than $12-14 for any entrée.

The food can be a little spicy so order accordingly.

My favorite is their fajitas - both the chicken and beef varieties are good. Or you can add shrimp, and cheese, Mexican pork sausage, whatever you can dream up, they'll prepare it. This isn't health food, but it sure does taste good. I can also heartily recommend their margaritas, but also recommend only one if you are driving. They know how to get a table all cranked up with their drinks! And try not to stuff yourself with the free chips and salsa.

Always a good time, El Vaq delivers consistently good food and service at moderate prices. Which is why they are always packed... It's not the most authentic Mexican but tastes good and is always a crowd pleaser.
